Bookplate of Cholmondeley Library to front pastedown; bookplate of Robert J. Hayhurst to ffep. This copy was in the library of Reginald Cholmondeley (1826-96) of Condover Hall. He hosted Mark Twain upon Twain’s visit to England in 1873 and 1879.

Gatherings A and B signed are with* and the paper has a Royal Arms watermark. This was the first book in which Andrew Foulis’s name appears with Robert’s as University Printer.
